Pen is included and is attached to the board with a thread plus it can be stored in an designated place with a magnet. This toys is a great tool to help a child to develop letter writing skills.
Made of alder wood.
As preparation for writing these tracing boards help young children from 3 years old to practice "writing" the shapes needed for letter shapes. The child holds the attached wooden "pen" and follows the tracks which contain straight lines, gentle and sharp bends etc. This teaches the necessary fine motor skills needed for holding a pen and writing.

Wood is naturally anti-bacterial. However, if you feel the need to wash the toy:
• wipe with a wet cloth. Avoid soaking.
• wipe with a dry towel.
• let air dry completely.
• lightly sand with fine sandpaper.
• refinished with any food-safe oil.
